Dash

My name is Dash and I'm a relatively small (48 pound, 21.5 inch) German Shorthaired Pointer.  Mom and Dad rescued me from the Missouri Pointer Rescue in November of 2008 when I was 8 months old.  I started training to run flyball in early 2009.  I was still a bit timid when I started training (I had very little human interaction before I was adopted), but flyball really helped me come out of my shell.  Thanks to all my friends on Extreme Insanity for the cookies and encouragement!  I ran my first team heat at my very first trial in May, 2010 and I've never looked back.  I've become a reliable team dog and rarely even screw up a single heat in a weekend.  I generally run between 5.0-5.4 seconds, but my fastest time is 4.8 seconds.  Mom thinks I could run much faster (you should see my fly around the back yard!).  I guess I do pace myself a bit -- but really, what's the hurry?! :)

08-05-10 Update:  I received enough points at the Armada, MI tournament (July 31-August 1, 2010) to earn the title FDCh-S!

11-29-10 Update:  I've competed in four tournaments since my last update.  Belleville, Indianapolis (CanAm), KY and Davisburg.  Mom says I'm doing great (I didn't mess up a single heat in any of those 4 tournaments)!  I'm 5 points shy of my next U-Fli title and ~350 points shy of my next NAFA title.  Even better . . . I ran a 4.9 second heat in Davisburg!  Mom can't believe that I keep getting faster. . . Watch Out!!

6-7-11 Update:  Sorry for the delay since my last update!  I've run 4 tournaments since November and I have two more coming up pretty quickly.  I've been getting pretty comfortable running on a Extreme Insanity 4 dog team with Sam, Spirit and Panic and we have had some pretty amazing weekends!  Mom has had several 1-2 foot passes into Spirit!  This past weekend at Sandusky I ran with SWAT and I'll be running with SWAT this coming weekend at Hastings (thanks SWAT!).  I am still looking to beat my 4.9 second heat from November.  With Max's 4.8 second run last weekend, I have to get a bit more competetive (can't let him be the fastest dog in our house!!).  Also, I've picked up a few new titles since my last update and Mom says I'm quickly moving up the breed ranks!

6-12-12 Update:  Oh my goodness I haven't updated my page in a while!  Over the past year, I've really grown into a reliable team dog.  Mom can't even remember the last time I messed up a heat.  Since the beginning of April, I've run at tournaments in Clinton Township, MI, Monroe, MI, Armada, MI, Sandusky, OH, and Hastings, MI!  We'll be back in Sandusky for the FIAB tournament next month.  I'll update my titles below, but one BIG brag. . . I am now the #1 GSP in U-Fli!
